4 Tips to Improve Your Chiropractic Reviews Program
Last Updated: April 5, 2021
Today we live in a world where online chiropractic reviews are more important than ever before. What current or previous customers say about us is one of the largest factors that new patients will look for when choosing a business. Have you ever done a Google search for a restaurant and chose the one that had way more reviews than the rest?
Or, have you ever decided NOT to go somewhere because of negative reviews or lack of reviews?
Chances are the answer to both of these questions is a resounding yes, and that’s why having a chiropractic reviews program in place is critical.
People these days want to go to a business that they can trust and having reviews is one of the best ways to build trust. When a business has proven time and time again that they provide quality service, a new customer will feel confident that they are going to the right place.
This is why online reviews matter.
If people are looking for reviews when picking a restaurant, then patients are absolutely looking at reviews when choosing a chiropractor. For the 2000+ offices that we are working with today, those with the most online reviews have the best results with their marketing.
Online reviews do much more than just build trust...
It Helps their Google Ads perform better...
We can show off reviews by linking a Google business page to an ad.
It helps their website perform better...
We can highlight these reviews on the website and draw more attention to the social proof for the office.
It helps their Facebook Ads do better...
We can display the Google reviews on any landing page we use for a FB Ad.
It even increases the number of current patients’ referrals...
Many times when a friend or family member recommends an office, the first thing that a patient will do is look them up online. If you have a friend/family member recommending you AND hundreds of positive reviews online, there is no reason that the patient won’t be calling you.
With all of these benefits, shouldn’t every office strive to have great online reviews? I do Google searches for chiropractors every day and see that there are usually only 1 to 2 offices in each city with great reviews.
What’s stopping these other offices from having great reviews?
The answer is simple. They don’t have a system in place, and they aren’t asking for them.
For the offices that have reviews, they will tell you it isn’t hard to do, you just need to have a focus on it.
After talking to thousands of offices and hearing the best of the best systems, I put together 4 tips that will help you take your office to the next level with your reviews online.
Tips for A Better CHIROPRACTIC Reviews Program
Tip #1 - Ask for Chiropractic Reviews!
This may seem like a no-brainer, but many chiropractic offices don’t ask for their patients to leave them a review. They just cross their fingers and hope everything comes naturally. Let me break it to you, reviews aren’t going to happen on their own. You must create a system that actively asks a patient for a review.
This process can be as simple as asking the patient in person when they tell you, “I feel amazing,” or ”You are the best chiropractor ever!” You could simply say “Thank you, Sue, we appreciate that. Would you be willing to share this in a Google review? It would help us help more new patients like you in the future.”
Now, not every situation will be this clear, but asking is a great first step.
Tip #2 - Automate your Chiropractic Reviews!
We live in the digital age. There are hundreds of systems just in the chiropractic niche that will allow you to automatically ask your patients for reviews. This can be tied into your EHR and be done right after an appointment, or it can be a list that your team uploads every few weeks.
I am a big fan of automation because it takes the need for remembering out of it. Once the system goes live, the reviews will start to come in! There is nothing that the office needs to worry about at that point.
Quite a few of the offices we work with really like having automation. At Inception, we have proven automated systems that we can put in place.
Tip #3 - Check back in.
Patients are busy. After their chiropractic appointment, they may be on their way to the grocery store, a kid’s soccer practice, out to dinner, etc. I can guarantee you the first thing that they do when they leave the office is not speeding home, opening their phone and leaving a review for their chiropractor on Google.
Just like how patients need reminders to come into their appointments, they need a reminder to leave a review too.
This can be a simple text message or email that goes to the patient reminding them to leave a review.
If you use an automated system, chances are this reminder can easily be automated away.
You can even go one step further and give them instructions on how to leave a review in the message. That way it takes most of the thinking away from the patient.
Tip #4 - Make it beneficial for the patient.
Most people today have the mindset of, “What's in it for me?” This is especially true in the world of business. Just because you’ve made them feel the best they have felt in 20 years, they still may not want to leave a review.
Incentivizing patients, it can make them more likely to leave a review. I’ve talked to many offices who have given away T-Shirts or have a drawing for a larger prize, where a review is an entry.
It doesn't have to be a brand new car, but giving something away, even if it’s small, can motivate the patient to leave a review.
Quick Sidebar for Tip #4:
Just before writing this article, I spoke to an office that had 150+ reviews on Google. I asked them what their system was and they said jokingly, “We don’t have a system.”
They had explained that all they do is have a little card next to the ice packs that they give to patients that say, “Ask us how to receive a free ice pack!”
When a patient asks their team, they explain that all it takes is leaving a review for the office on Google.
That’s it!
Something as simple as a little note card in their office generated over 150 reviews and they didn’t even have to do any hard work!
If you want an easy system to implement, something like this may work!
Every office that I’ve talked to with great online chiropractic reviews is already doing most, if not all, of these things.
If you want to lead your city in online reviews and you want to consistently get patients in the door with these reviews, definitely implement these tips.
